PAIiIZ (Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency) stated that the UniCredit Group international bank will establish a competence centre in Szczecin, so-called back office services, providing services to Germany, Poland and Austria. Closeness of the border with Germany, availability of highly qualified German- or English-speaking staff, high standard office space as well as competitive costs of conducting business activities led to the selection of the city. The total cost of the undertaking is assumed to be equal to 18.5 M PLN, the process of recruitment will start in March 2009 and will continue till 2010 and 430 staff will be employed. The UniCredit Group is the international European bank with its seat in Milan, providing services to over 40 M customers in 22 European countries and employs 7 000 staff. Bank Pekao S. A. belongs to the UniCredit Group. Whereas in Poznań Unilever Polska will establish R&D Centre of Liquid Food Products. It will be one of the sixth target European posts. The company has already moved to Poznań in 2008, and at present it has been moving to a new building where offices, laboratories and trial production line will be located. PAIiIZ (Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency) informed that it has currently submitted considerably more applications of companies interested in undertaking outsourcing business in Poland than a year or two ago.
