Together with a Polish partner, Decoma Sp. z o.o., have prepared an offer, among others, for the construction of a second metro line.  The companies, belonging to a consortium: China Overseas Engineering Group Co., Ltd (COVEC), Shanghai Construction Group (SCG), China Railway Tunnel Group (CTG), are global leaders in infrastructure projects, possess ISO certification as well as the most extensive knowledge in the completion of tunneling projects of all firms currently present on the Polish market. With the support of both funds and technology from their parent company- China Railway Group Limited,  one of the Fortune Global 500 and the third largest in the world project contractor, Chinese corporations will develop a new field in Poland by using its vast experience in overseas engineering.  China Railway Group Limited captures a total market share of 60% in the construction of metropolitan railways and subways in China and in Asia.
“Sometimes we create new businesses with the fear of competition, and spread, for example, opinions that the quality of investments in China is weak.  As a result, it is worth visiting China, because the expressways there awaken a sense of respect for spirit and solidity. China administers the second largest network of expressways in the world (41 thousand km). Nothing seems to be falling apart or collapsing. Finding any holes is fruitless. Therefore if their expertise is offered along with their machinery, and aggregates, and workforce, what else is there to think about?” says Adrian Furgalski, independent expert from think tank Economy Advisers TOR.
It is a common practice for the Chinese companies to cooperate with local firms and it is part of their international growth strategy. In addition, being a global player, these large Chinese contractors have established years of international experience and knowledge. Regarding the reason why these Chinese corporations have asked a Polish partner to participate in the consortium is due to the fact that Chinese corporations still need the support of local companies that have local experience, a local network of partners, and personnel that are conformed to working in such a market as Poland.
